Amazon.com
The Razor kick scooter has always been a favorite of all ages, but it hasn't always been big enough for all ages. Enter the Razor A5 Lux, a deluxe-size kick scooter with extra-large 200mm urethane wheels. The wheels not only support more weight (up to 220 pounds), but they also require less work than smaller wheels. Now you can spend less time pushing and more time riding. The A5 Lux is also extremely durable, with a super-strong aluminum T-tube frame and deck. And like all Razor kick scooters, the A5 Lux folds up quickly for easy storage or transport. Other features include an adjustable handlebar height, Abec-5 bearings, and a patented rear fender brake. Appropriate for ages 8 and older, the A5 Lux measures 35 by 41 by 21 inches (W x H x D) when unfolded and weighs 13 pounds.

5 out of 5 stars Razor A5 Lux Scooter: Childhood Relived   July 29, 2010
Frenchbread (California)
I bought this because I just couldn't keep up with the kids on thier bikes any more without running. So I figured lets see if I can find a scooter for adults; that way unlike a bike I can get easy on and off. Found this product and the reviews were all good and I myself have not been disappointed. It moves very fast with relative easy, turning is very capable and sturdy, the large wheels do not easily get stuck in the uneven pavement, and it folds up for carrying and storage extremely easily. I just love it.

4 out of 5 stars Makes Scooters Fun For Adults   July 29, 2010
Sail Away
This is a fun scooter for big kids and adults. It does not seem quite as solid as the Razors for kids. But, it is generally sturdy, and allows us parents to have fun alongside our children when they ride their scooters. Get one.....have fun.....feel what it's like to be a kid again! It will make you smile!

Addendum 7/30/10 -- If you have mid-size or bigger hands, consider this - the handles on the A5 Lux Scooter have plastic inserts on the outside ends of the handlebars. These plastic inserts are large and not comfortable. So, if you grip too hard near the outside of the handlebars, you may find that your hands get poked or rubbed uncomfortably by these plastic inserts. You can easily adjust your hands towards the middle of the handlebars, but if you find yourself needing to make an emergency adjustment, and your hands get poked by the plastic handlebar inserts, it could possibly causes issues. I think this is a design issue that Razor should consider addressing. It has never been an issue for me, other than being uncomfortable, but I find it worth noting as part of this review!

5 out of 5 stars Great product!   July 24, 2010
RK (New York, NY)
I'm 38, 5'10" and weigh 170 lbs. I find this scooter great for getting around NYC. It easily supports my weight. It typically cuts my travel time (i.e., if I were walking) by more than 50%. The larger wheels work well on the city's uneven sidewalks and roads. It folds up conveniently and is relatively light and easy to carry. Highly recommended!

5 out of 5 stars Probably the best scooter   July 23, 2010

I am an adult and I got this for myself. The original motivation was to have something that I could easily keep in the trunk of my car that I could use to get closer to events (like fireworks) where it is hard to park closer by. With a scooter you can park 2 miles away and easily get closer even if you need to weave in and out of people walking. It is much more agile than a bike. It is also fun to ride! The larger wheels (200mm) of this scooter are a big improvement over the 98mm wheels on most other scooter models. The platform is relatively wide (4.5") but not too wide so you don't need to swing your leg out. The deck is about 13.1" long which is fine for me. The deck height is also a little more (~2.75" to top) than some other scooters making it easier to clear uneven terrain. The build quality is fairly high. There is one adjustment I needed to make with an allen wrench so that there was not too much play between the deck and the handle bars. This adjustment cannot be made too tight or the folding mechanism becomes hard to release. Other than that is was pretty much good to go out of the box.

4 out of 5 stars Father's Day gift   July 20, 2010

Overall, the razor is great. Makes it over some pretty big bumps on the sidewalk without a problem. Plenty tall for us, and the foot brake works fine - I was nervous about that. The foot area is a little too small to put two feet at the same time. I usually rest mine on the brake anyways. My husband and I both use this when running errands around the neighborhood.
