cute house August 23, 2010 myMatthewBean (Long Island, NY) Recently purchased this house for my almost 2-year old daughter. We have it set up in our playroom. Same troubles as everyone else putting it together, need a good drill to get screws in since there are no pre-drilled holes. Overall look is adorable with the hearts and pink shutters and door. Daughter loves playing in it. Loves the door-bell and phone sounds. Large enough inside that we added a kid-sized plastic chair, her doll stoller and other items. Loves the "cook-top" which we also accessorized with plastic plates and pots. Book racks inside only hold incredibly small books. Door is tight, but inside is tall enough. Even my very tall 7 year-old son couldn't resist going in a few times, though he had to squat a little bit inside.
Sweetheart playhouse April 30, 2010 Nancy Ziegner (Weymouth, MA USA) I bought this for my 2 year old great granddauhter and she loves it. It is very easy to put together and very sturdy. Its a good size as she will be using it for at least another 5 or 6 years. Its also very cute for a little girl.
Too Small to do very much !! December 26, 2008 So Happy ! (Cali) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This house is so cute. The Sweetheart playhouse is so to small though. You could only fit 1 of anything in it. I am so dissapointed. I would have rather spent more money and got a house she could sit a little table in or a chair , just somthing. It took 5 Min to assem. so easy. I would look into a larger house that 2-3 litle girls could fit in.
Highly recommended June 24, 2008 Ana (Philippines) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After much research, we settled on the Sweetheart Playhouse mainly for the look and the color, and the fact that it is made in the U.S.A. and we assume, passes high safety standards. My daughter just loves it!! It was her 2nd birthday gift and when we opened the huge box, her eyes were wide open and she just whispered HOUSE. Installing it took less 30 nminutes with 3 men working on it. It is perfect for her playroom, and she has not stopped playing with it. We are very happy with this purchase despite very high shipping costs.
Great Product June 28, 2007 JustinK (PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this playhouse as a present for my daughter's 2nd birthday, and she really seems to enjoy it. The phone, doorbell, etc. are nice touches, and she loves to put food up on the grill area. The inside area is quite large, with plenty of space to have a chair, toys, and still enough room to play. In addition to having a lot of space, the playhouse also has a good balance as far as how open it feels. The door is fairly long and has "windows," and the windows themselves are fairly large, so that the playhouse avoids having a claustrophobic feel (though with the shutters and the closable grill, you can make it more enclosed if you want).
The playhouse is made out of fairly sturdy plastic. One problem that I did have is that some screws are used to keep the roof on, and the screw holes weren't in the right place, so I had to make my own. Other than that issue, and the ridiculous shipping cost, we are very happy with the playhouse. And it's good to know that it's a toy that our two daughters will probably get six or seven years of use out of, not one that will be quickly forgotten in favor of a new toy.
