Editorial Review
Like the gun toted by the cowboy hero with whom it shares its name, the Maverick is a six shooter. Unlike the gun that other Maverick had, however, this weapon shoots only soft suction darts that can fly across a room and adhere to a window or other glass surface. The Maverick features a rotating barrel, which makes it easier to keep the firepower flying in the midst of heated battle and a futuristic look to better engender sci-fi fantasy play if you so choose. For a little extra power boost, the gun also has a pump mechanism. In our informal test, the darts flew surprisingly far and impressively straight. --Charlie Williams

5 out of 5 stars The best Nerf shooter we ever used   February 22, 2010
Nuknuk (Springfield, VA United States)
If you have 2 or more boys in the house, this one of the most fun of all game activities they can do indoor. I remember when we were kids, we were shooting with imaginary bullets or rubber bands. How things have changed. Now with foam bullets, you feel safe they are not breaking any TV's, windows or mirrors inside the house. Great alternative than kids playing video games or turning them into couch potatoes in front of the tube.

The Nerf N-Strike Maverick has a rotating barrel with 6-bullet capacity and comes with 6 suction bullets.

1) It does not jam as often as other Nerf shooters.
2) It also accepts different types of ammunition - suction darts, strimline, whistlers, etc.

Both of which are the source of frustration with our N-Strike Recon CS-6.

The maverick is much easier to handle and maneuver than the longer guns. It is also easier to reload for smaller kids. I always need to help my 5-yr old to cock the gun for the CS-6, not with the Maverick. With this gun, they can play all by themselves without pestering you to cock the gun with every shot.

When not hiding behinds couches, and chasing each other around the house, they are busy targeting stacks of plastic cups placed on the window sills as targets. This is what kids' fun is all about, lots and lots of it. I have to stop my boys turning my couches into trampolines whenever they do a victory dance.

5 out of 5 stars good nerf gun   February 17, 2010
I got this nerf gun in january. I had alot of money (i won 20 bucks in the lottery) so I got 2 of these. It never jams and after modding it shoots abou 35 to 45 feet. I would recommend this as a secondary weapon in a nerf war. This weapon is really easy to mod. theonly tools you need is a hammer, a screwdriver, and some wirecutters. then look up "how to mod a maverick" on youtube. wait, I'm getting off track here. the point is that the nerf maverick REV-6 is a really good gun.

This gun was mainly purchased to have a little fun with my fellow nerdfighters great toy, but was lazy and saw it for half the price at target ) :

5 out of 5 stars ammmmaazinng!!!!   February 11, 2010
I think this is the best Nerf EVER!!!!
Even though the range isnt too good compared with some other guns , the reloading is quicker and thats the end of arguments about who hit who, because micro darts go careening off course at even the slightest touch. its really light too. The only con is that it takes a little time to pop open the barrel. Another is that sometimes the darts do not fire, but only if you do not put the darts in properly and if you can't do that, you don't deserve to be a Nerfer.
Three BEST pros:
Price( the firefly is a little better than this gun but not for it's price)
Lightweight( guns like the longshot may be good, but they are heavy)
Easy( Education??? What do you mean, education??? This gun doesnt need to be built, making it even better! If you mess up while building a gun, you can seriously damage it)

2 out of 5 stars For HvZ, a Terrible Choice of Gun   February 2, 2010
Melissa L. Harris (Zionsville, IN)
While a very entry level gun for Human's VS Zombie's it has many problems with it.

This gun jams quite a bit. And when your trying to fight off a horde of "zombies" isn't a very good thing. Another problem is the Maverick is that its awkward when you have to reload it.

While the gun is very easy to mod, and modding it does increase its usefulness, you would be better off spending the extra 10 or 20 bucks for a better gun.

I'll be selling my gun for the next round of HvZ, and trading it in for two Tek 6's.
