I checked out everything that was available on Amazon and settled on the St. Pierre American Professional Series Horseshoes Set. Looked like it was far above all the others in quality and at a good price and made in the US, so I added it to my wish list.
A couple weeks later I suddenly realized the Independence Day holiday was right around the corner and I still hadn't ordered the horseshoes for the family get-together. So I jumped onto Amazon and somehow forgot my wish list. Then I also forgot what I had looked at previously. I ordered the Franklins.
A day later I realized my mistake, but they had already shipped. Boy, was I bummed. The previous reviewers got it right - - there are better sets available (and for less money...) First thing I had to do was make a trip to Lowe's to get longer stakes.
These are OK in a pinch if you don't mind crap from China. I sure wish I'd ordered the right set in the first place.

We bought this same set from Tractor Supply and didn't use it much in the month we had it before one of the horseshoes broke it two pieces. It is made from carbon steel...very cheap! We noticed almost immediately playing how it seemed to dent and the gold plating faded off extremely fast. We returned this set and now are searching for a better made set. Really looking into what the sets are made of now before buying. Looked nice, but made cheap and it broke! Buyer beware!

this horseshoe set is a good price for the whole setup. if your a weekend and party player this is the set for you. if your an advanced player the horseshoes are still great but youll have trouble with the posts because they are only 24" long and with regulation 15" out and 8" of sand that only leaves you 1"in the dirt(or concrete bucket) but either way im happy with it...

The carry-bag ripped the first time I picked it up. One of the horse shoes broke on first day of use.

I am a contractor in Iraq and sometimes there is a need for some good distraction. I thought that horseshoes would be good one so, I found these. I thought that I would be getting some average run of the mill set with a light weight pair of stakes but, was I ever surprised when they showed up only two weeks later(for here that is fantastic shipping)(and free as well). This set of horseshoes is one of the finest that I have ever seen. If anyone is looking to impress your friends or relatives with your taste in choosing a set of horseshoe to play with, this is it. You will be the talk of the horseshoe circut.
