Amazon.com Product Description
Designed for beginners, this sport kite with Prism's "Ice" color pattern has a 55-inch wing span but folds down to 25 inches long so it can be packed in a suitcase or backpack inside a zippered travel case that comes with the kite. Easy instructions are printed on the case so they're always handy. Quick, stable, and easy to control, the kite will fly in winds as low as 5 mph, a plus for inland pilots, and also perform in winds up to 25 mph, a plus for beach pilots. The frame is carbon fiber/fiberglass composite for instant response and light-wind performance. The delta wing is shaped from ripstop nylon. The kite's ready-to-fly package comprises two 65-foot low-stretch Spectra lines, winder, and flight straps.

Specifications:

  • Wing span: 55" (140 cm)
  • Frame: carbon fiber/fiberglass composite
  • Wing material: ripstop nylon
  • Lines: 65' low-stretch Spectra
  • Line rating: 90 pounds
  • Recommended wind speed: 5-25 mph

About Prism
An avid windsurfer, pilot and competitive sailor, Mark Reed, now president of Prism Designs, discovered two-line sport kiting in the late 1990s, when he was in college and sport kites were, at best, primitive. In 1991, his hobby became a business in a tiny house in Seattle. From that modest beginning, Prism has grown into a worldwide business, introducing and explaining the sport as it grew. Today, Prism manufactures in Seattle and Asia and carries two lines of kites, with models for first-time flyers up to world-ranked competition pilots.

Product Description
Smaller stunt kites in the 4-6 foot range take longer to learn with because they're quick and easier to over-control. But if you want to check out sport kiting with a minimal investment, treat yourself to the very best little trainer on the market: The Prism Jazz Sport Kite. It's a zippy little wing that packs up small, so take it everywhere. It's the air, it's quick but remarkably stable and easy to control, even for a low-time pilot. Engineered and built to the same obsessive standards as Prism's top-end equipment, it's a simple, compact little gem that will get you up and flying with a grin. . 2 out of 5 stars Tough to fly   June 24, 2010
TCK (MN, USA)
Well built and marvelously designed. Supposedly for novices and beginners, which I consider myself despite having flown kites of a different design as a kid. Repeated attempts to fly, as well as adjust and fly resulted in the kite going up, turning 180 and crashing into the ground. Child lost all interest in kites.

We purchased this item as a beginner level kite but found it too difficult to control, at least in anything other than beach-like steady straight wind conditions. Quality was good.

5 out of 5 stars super fun kite   October 12, 2009

works great in low wind conditions and even better in good wind. It's really a lot of fun and you will get some exercise in the process! Kite is of excellent quality and i suggest you watch the included video on how to assemble as it will save you from trying to decrypt the multi-language instructions.

Pretty good kite for winds greater than 5mph. A bit noisey at higher speeds though.

I bought this for my grand daughters birthday. It is very colorful. It is very sturdy, as it has crashed a couple of times in the hands of a 3 year old, while she was learning how to operate. She loves this thing. It gets her outside away from the TV. Amazon delivery was perfect again.
