4 out of 5 stars Great for daughter   June 29, 2010

Great pool very durable....concern does anyone use a floating Chlorine dispenser. It is a pain to keep draining and keeping the debris out. I did buy a pool skimmer works well...

I was wondering if a dispenser would be appriopriate for this size pool.

thanks

4 out of 5 stars Good size, fun for kids, no drain plug, inexpensive   June 29, 2010

My grandchildren love playing in this pool, the size is great for the 3 to 6 year olds. Anyone younger will need much less water. We use it as a single use pool, deflate after every use and store it.

As noted, this pool has two issues and if you are not prepared they can be a problem.
1. An electrical air pump that provides volume is needed to blow up the two huge air chambers. Happily, there are two types of air inlet/outlets, small push/pull type and larger screw caps with rubber plugs. I use the larger inlets with my portable compressor with the large diameter fill hose, like for inflatable boats. It takes about 5 minutes to fill that way.
2. This pool does not have a drain plug. My first attempt at draining it was unsatisfactory, I figured a better way. I simply unscrewed the caps, pulled the plugs from the inlet/outlets and let the air out. The water simply drained out as the pool deflated. Works for me...

I try to be very careful to not get it near anything that can puncture it, the vinyl looks easy to pierce.
Overall, it was inexpensive to buy, fun for the little ones to use and stores easily.

4 out of 5 stars Make your backyard a vacation destination   June 14, 2010

I live in eastern North Carolina where the temperatures are already topping the mid 90's with high humidity (heat index today is going to be over 100 degrees!). I bought this pool for me (no kids!) and it is just perfect. Easy to inflate and fill, it is the ideal solution for cooling off on a hot day. I bought a 4x8ft piece of 3/4 inch foam core (insulation) at the local home improvement store to put under the pool to protect it and make it comfy to sit on. It's like my own little retreat for $[...]!

Draining
Agree that it would be nice to have a drain plug, but I just reuse the water in my garden - fill watering cans a few dozen times and presto the plants are happy and the pool is empty enough to tip and empty to clean.

Repairing
I did get a small punture thanks to my cat, and sadly, there was no repair kit in my box, but was able to find a solution.

Covering
Biggest woe is covering it. Didn't want to buy the covers online because of the low ratings. Tried a tarp, but it just filled with water when it rained which was a pain. A king fitted sheet works...kind of (California king would be ideal). It's not easy to get on, but it does help keep the debris out while letting the water through if it rains.

2 out of 5 stars Nice pool but came without air valve covers   June 13, 2010

I was excited to get this pool; but when I first opened it, I noticed the air valve covers were missing. So the air doesn't stay in the pool when I inflate it. I thought it would be an easy fix with tape or even a bottle cap; but it ended up being more hastle than I had anticipated. I have a rechargeable Coleman air pump, but it's still a hastle to keep refilling the air when my kids are playing in the pool. Very discouraging. A mere oversight? I don't know. It is now too late to return this pool and I will not be getting this brand of pool again. I'm through with inflatables!

4 out of 5 stars Step on the side, people. Deflate a little to make it easier.   June 11, 2010

What is the obsession with a drain plug? Step on the side to let enough water out so you can then flip the thing over. Letting some air out first will help. Presto -- drained.
